Dark Matter Scream Works contains many violent and disturbing scenes. We recommend ages 13 and up. We will allow kids younger than 13 to experience DMSW but they must be accompanied by an adult. We will NOT refund tickets if you are too scared. 

We do not recommend you attend Dark Matter Scream Works if you have: heart issues, breathing difficulties, any form of movement impairment, are pregnant, and/or sensitivity to flashing lights, fog, tight spaces or darkness.

Wait times at Dark Matter Scream Works vary depending on the day. As we get closer to Halloween, expect the wait times to increase. There is no way to skip the line outside. The line outside means we are at building capacity and cannot let any more customers in. The capacity is set by the Fire Marshall and is strictly enforced. 

There are no refunds for leaving early because you are too scared. Unused tickets may be accepted on another night at the sole discretion of Dark Matter Scream Works staff. There is no guarantee you will be readmitted once you leave. 

Groups may enter the haunted attractions in groups of up to SIX people. If you have a group of SEVEN you will be split into two or more smaller groups. 

Due to our popularity and extreme wait times the closer we get to Halloween, DMSW has decided to offer different prices depending on how busy it is expected to be. Less busy = cheaper and more busy = more expensive.

We take every groups picture as they are being scared in one of the rooms. Then our minions comb through every picture taken and pick out the best ones to share on social media. There may be some groups that don't make the cut. This could be because of many reasons. The pictures can be found on our Facebook page, in an album titled with the date you visited. 

We are Rochester's ONLY indoor haunted house. We are open rain or shine. Our queue line is inside, on our busy nights the line may extend outside but the waiting area is covered. The busiest nights the line may extend beyond the covered areas.

Our scare actors are dedicated to scaring and thrilling our guests with their terrifying performances and they will NOT touch you. This also means you cannot touch them or the props anywhere in the building unless they are an interactive photo op.
